OCCUPANCY COST HEALTH CHECK

The responsibility for occupation of business premises is becoming more complex each year in terms of cost efficiency, health & safety and maintenance, etc.

We are all facing very challenging economic times at present, requiring increased scrutiny of all business expenditure whilst preparing for the upturn and the new opportunities that may come along.

This service is designed to identify and flag up areas of potential cost-savings arising from property overheads such as Leasing costs and Business Rates and to consider opportunities for putting the property to better use such as sub-letting surplus floor space or land on either a temporary or permanent basis.

Initially it requires a detailed understanding of the client’s business activities and aspirations; the property tenure; suitability for use and general condition; business rate payments; neighbouring activities; local planning & highways issues, and so on.

Once these enquiries have been completed and findings considered it’s then possible for me to discuss with the client possible courses of action, whether immediate or in the foreseeable future. As part of this procedure the client may wish to seek advice from other professional advisors such as lawyers or accountants in order to get a complete informed picture.
